The art of handwritten letters are dying. It’s sad but it’s true. Letters are the art of the past, a way to hold on to a moment or to share a memory. Letters are special and we shouldn’t let them die.

That is why I’m trying to bring back handwritten letters.

But if you’re not sure who to write a letter to then keep on reading..

Your Grandparents

All of my Grandparents have passed away now but I seriously wish that I had written them a letter while they were still alive. Simon has a letter from his Grandad that he treasures and I wish that my Grandparents and I could have shared a moment like that.

Your Grandparents are special because they have seen your parents grow up as well as yourself. They have witnessed two generations of their own in their lifetime and they deserve to be congratulated for being there every time anyone fell down. Grandparents aren’t so used to all this modern technology so it would be nice to remind them of the good old days but sending them a letter.

Your old best friend

You know that old friend who you no longer speak to much or you just fell out of touch with. Well get writing because you need to tell them about how important they were to you.

Tell them about your favourite memories with them and tell them all about how they made you feel. Guaranteed, they will appreciate the thought and you may even become friends again.

Your ex

You probably won’t want to write this letter but it’s an important one. Thank them. They broke your heart and thanks to them, you now know how to mend it.

They helped you to turn into the stronger person that you are today. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be and the earlier you learn this, the better.

Your favourite childhood teacher

You favourite childhood teacher was there for you while you struggled through the school years. Let’s be honest, school sucked but those teachers who were there for you just made it that little bit more bearable.

For me, it’s Dr Davies, my old maths teacher. Thank you for believe in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for continually pushing me and making me a better person.

Who are you going to be writing letters to? Let’s bring back handwritten letters..

I used to write handwritten letters for my birthday and Christmas presents but now it’s just so easy to send a text! I think I’d write a letter to my nan as she is the only grandparent I have left. Writing to a teacher is really sweet too!
