Is your phone the first thing you reach for in the morning and the last thing you touch before bed? Do you frequently pick it up “just to check”, only to look up forty-five minutes later wondering where the time has gone?

If you do, then you’re like the 99% (this is not a fact, don’t quote me, I could be exaggerating) of people who are also addicted to their phones. They are our life these days. They are full of all our details, plans and even banking so we would be pretty messed up without them really.

Even though we love our phones a lot, and I mean a lot, a lot. We all still need a little bit of phone-free time in our lives.

Well, here are a few things that you can do to spend some time without your phone.

♡ Write a handwritten letter to someone you love or appreciate.
♡ Try out a new hairstyle that you’ve seen on a friend or celebrity.
♡ Read some of those books that are on your ever grown to-be-read pile.
♡ Do some colouring from a colouring book.
♡ Watch a film or television show that you’ve always wanted to watch but never got around to watching.
♡ Try out some new make-up styles or trends.
♡ Go for a walk in nature and appreciate all the sounds, smells and beautiful colours that nature has to offer.
♡ Draw something that makes you happy. Maybe your pet or a special place.
♡ Apply a face mask or some kind of facial treatment. Skincare is self-care.
♡ Try out a new outfit using the clothes from your wardrobe.
♡ Build a pillow fort and fill it with all your favourite things.
♡ Bake some treats, such as cakes, biscuits or pastries. You could even give some to your neighbours and use it as an excuse to make some new friends.
♡ Take your camera outside and have yourself a mini photoshoot.
♡ Paint your nails and try different styles and techniques.
♡ Write a song, poem or story.
♡ Get some of the tidying done that you’ve been putting off.
♡ Spend some time in the garden. You could do some maintenance or just sit and relax.
♡ Do some exercise. Maybe it’s at the gym or maybe it’s a home. It all counts.
♡ Go for a shopping spree and treat yourself to something new.
♡ Put on your favourite playlist and dance like no one is watching. Bonus points if you get someone else to join in.
♡ Play some brain puzzles. Sudoku is my favourite but crosswords are good too.
♡ Take yourself on a coffee date.
♡ Play tourist in your own hometown. Explore more.
♡ Spend some time lying on the ground and looking up at the sky.
♡ Zone out for a while.

What do you like to do instead of using your phone? If I missed anything, let me know so we can all have some new ideas.
