October turned out to be a month of gaming for me. It wasn’t because I bought loads of new games or because there was a new release, it was simply because I didn’t have anything else to do and found myself playing on my Switch a lot. I’m not mad though.
Since March, I had only really been playing Animal Crossing. I was addicted and it’s what I spent most of my time doing. However, the Animal Crossing burnout has hit and I’m hardly even playing the game now.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love Animal Crossing. But I had to start playing something else. And I definitely did just that.
This month I played quite a few different games so I thought I would write a monthly roundup style post to talk about the games that I’ve played.
At the start of October, I started playing Xenoblade and I absolutely love it. I had only bought the game because a good friend of mine kept telling me to, but I’m so glad she did.
I have played Xenoblade for about 35 hours now and I can’t wait to play even more. I’ve heard people saying that you can easily invest over 100 hours into the game so I know that there’s plenty more for me to do in the game and I can’t wait.
Since getting a new Nintendo Switch, I decided to start playing Pokemon Sword all over again. I started this challenge about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now completed the story and I’m working on filling my Pokédex.
Since I had already played through the story before, I just found the storyline of Pokemon Sword to be kind of boring. The first time I played it, it wasn’t great but I didn’t hate it. This time around, I just couldn’t be bothered with it and I didn’t find it interesting at all.
I am definitely excited to be working on filling my Pokédex now though. I don’t think I have ever completed a Pokédex before so it’ll be fun.
October has also brought the release of The Crown Tundra which is the second part of the Pokemon DLC. I haven’t yet played any of it but I’m definitely looking forward to doing so in the future.
It came as a pretty huge shock to myself that I’m actually enjoying Splatoon 2. I have had this game since the Nintendo Switch first released yet I’ve never fully gotten into playing it. I played it once or twice but I never really understood it.
I started playing again in October and suddenly I just found myself having fun with it. I changed my brush a few times and learned to way of the maps and now I’m really enjoying playing.
Whenever I want to play a game that is simple and just a nice distraction then I’m always reaching for Splatoon now.
So this month has been a pretty fun gaming month for me. Have you played anything good this month? What’s your favourite Nintendo Switch games?
