If you’re anything like me, then you buy notebooks a lot quicker than you use them. And I don’t blame you! There’s some absolutely lovely notebooks out there so how can anyone resist buying them?!

Since you’ve probably got at least one spare notebook if you’e reading this, then I figured that I would share some ways to fill them.

Dream Diary

Dreams are so fascinating! So, why not write them all down when you wake up in the morning? You can write whatever you remember from the dream and it might be able to help you figure of what is worrying you in the day time. Failing that, sometimes dreams are just funny and you might get a good laugh by reading through your dreams.

List of 100

I seriously love the ‘list of 100’ idea. It’s basically where you just write a list of 100 things. For example, you could write a list of 100 favourite songs, or a list of 100 movies to watch. By having a notebook to keep all of these lists in, it can be fun to look back on. You could even write a list of 100 things to do when you’re feeling low or stressed. That way, you’ll have some ideas for when you don’t feel so good.

Book, Game, Film and/or TV Show Reviews

If you love any kind of books, film, games or shows but have a terrible memory like me, then it’s a good idea to write down the films you enjoyed and a mini review. You could note down your favourite characters and some of your favourite quotes. Maybe rank it out of five stars and do some little drawings too. You could make this notebooks super cute or just keep it as a simple list. The possibilities are endless.

Gratitude Journal

Practising gratitude is a great way to put yourself into a more positive mindset. By keeping a gratitude journal, you can write down all the things that you’re grateful for until you eventually have a notebook full of happy things. It would definitely be a nice thing to look back on when you’re having a bad day or need a bit of joy.

Life Lessons

You can’t go through life without learning a few things. So, just image when you’re in your 80s or however old and you pick up your notebook just full of things you learned in life. It would definitely be a fun experience to look back through.

Mental Health Tracker

Looking after your mental health is important. That’s why it’s a great idea to keep checking in with yourself. By having a dedicated notebook for this, you can notice patterns and find triggers. It’s also a great opportunity for you to watch yourself go through recovery. You can look back and feel so proud of yourself.

Recipes

This is a great way of keeping track of all your favourite recipes. You could make a note of your family recipes that have been handed down through generations. Or you could make notes about a recipe that you’ve been experimented with. By adding little notes with tips and tricks you’ve learned from trying out recipes, you’re sure to perfect it in no time.

Goals List

Keeping track of my goals is something that I love to do. I love noting down my goals and then looking back so that I can see how far I’ve come over time. You can write down some daily goals or just life goals. There’s endless possibilities with goals lists.

Morning pages

I started writing morning pages a few years ago and although I’m pretty terrible at sticking to it, it’s pretty fun. If you’ve not heard of morning pages before then I’ll briefly explain. The idea is that you write solidly for three pages about absolutely anything. You can write down some thoughts, tell a story or plan your day. There’s so many things that you can write about which makes it so fun. I find that writing morning pages is a great way to start my day and really puts me in a happy and productive mood.

The ‘Anything and Everything’ Notebook

If you’re red through this list and like all the ideas, then the anything and everything notebook might be the best idea for you. It’s simple, you just write, draw, doodle, share whatever you want all in one notebook. On one page you can share a childhood memory and then you can write a to-do list on the next. The beauty of this notebook type is that it’s chaotic in a wonderful way.

No matter how you choose to fill your notebooks, journalling should be fun. So, don’t put pressure on yourself to make everything perfect. There’s beauty in imperfections. Your journals should be a happy space for you. Happy journalling!

Love these ideas! I started using my notebooks for “learning,” so I have one where I write about the healing crystals I own, one for astrology, one for watercolour and photography… It’s nice to justify owning them, haha! It’s hard to resist buying a pretty notebook, it truly has to be said ๐Ÿ™‚
