I’ve been a Marvel fan since 2014 when I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier in the cinema. Before then, I had watched a few of the films but never really fully invested. After watching The Winter Soldier, I decided I wanted to learn more about the Marvel Universe. I did a little research and watched a few more of the earlier films. It was great!

Since then, I have invested more and more of my time into the Marvel Universe. I’ve watched most of the films and enjoyed them. However, I didn’t seem to remember every single detail.

That is why… I decided to rewatch every Marvel film.

Since rewatching all the films, I thought of some things that I felt I wanted to share. Hence, this blog post.

I decided to watch the Marvel films in release order this time, for those who were interested.

And here are my thoughts on each film…

Iron Man (2008). I was never a huge fan of Iron Man. He had too much of an ego and it bothered me. Yet, this time around, I really felt for him. He slowly turned into one of my favourite characters and his character has such a powerful story.

The Incredible Hulk (2008). Weirdly, this film wasn’t on Disney+ which was odd. Luckily, it was on Netflix so I still managed to watch it. The Incredible Hulk was definitely not one of the best films but it wasn’t completely terrible. Still glad I watched it.

Iron Man 2 (2010). This one wasn’t as good as the first Iron Man but it was still pretty good.

Thor (2011). How could anyone not like Thor? He’s a God, there’s space travel and a bit of magic. It’s a lovely yet slightly comedic film. Definitely one of my top 10.

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). Pretty okay but not as great as I used to think. Considering Captain America was my favourite Marvel superhero for awhile, it’s weird to me that I didn’t fully enjoy this film when rewatching.

Marvel’s The Avengers (2012). So many different heroes all in one film. Their personalities together just makes me so happy. Between the bickering and the support, it’s a pretty fun film.

Iron Man 3 (2013). Pretty good film but not exactly what I expected it to be. Tony bonding with that kid was pretty cute though.

Thor: The Dark World (2013). I have mixed feelings on this one. Some of the story line was meh but some of it was really gripping.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014). This one is still one of my favourites even after all this time. I love the character building as well as all the action.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). This one feels very disconnected from the rest of the Marvel Universe. It’s still a fun watch though.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Scarlet Witch is the best thing about this film. It’s not as good as the first Avengers film but this one is still pretty damn good.

Ant-Man (2015). Honestly, I’m not a fan. I did like the relationship that Scott has with his daughter though. “He’s so ugly! I love him!” is now officially my favourite Marvel quote though.

Captain America: Civil War (2016). Watching the heroes battle with the truths of reality was pretty interesting. This film was pretty good but I didn’t fully understand the argument between the two sides.

Doctor Strange (2016). I didn’t think I would enjoy this film all that much and for the first 30ish minutes, I didn’t. But after that, I started to really get into it.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Probably better than the first one. Definitely a favourite. Also now obsessed with saying “I’m Mary Poppins, Y’all” for no apparent reason.

Thor: Ragnarok (2017). I fully enjoyed this film. I think it was one of my favourite through my whole rewatch. The way Thor and Hulk interacted together was so perfect and it did a great job of combining action with comedy in some places.

Black Panther (2018). Another absolute fave of my rewatch. I don’t have much to say about it other than it’s a great example of how amazing Marvel are.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Oh my gosh, so much happened! TI feel like no matter how many times I watch Infinity War, I will always stare at the screen in shock.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018). After not fully enjoying Ant-man, I didn’t really expect much from this one. I was luckily surprised as it wasn’t completely terrible. It wouldn’t make my top 10 list but at least I didn’t want to pull my hair out while watching it.

Captain Marvel (2019). I tweeted that I thought this was a rubbish film and that I’m probably alone in thinking that, but apparently I’m not. It’s just not good. I wanted to like it because Brie Larson is amazing but I just couldn’t.

Avengers: Endgame (2019). I don’t even know what to say about this one. All I’ll say it I rated it 5/5.

What’s next..?

Now that I’ve watched all the main films, I’m planning on finally starting to watch WandaVision. I’ve been looking forward to watching it for quite some time but I really wanted to watch all these films first.

I’m still really looking forward to watching Black Widow when the cinemas finally reopen. But I’m especially looking forward to watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier this month and Loki in June on Disney+.

Have you watched all the Marvel films? What did you think of them?

I am a huge Marvel fan but I always forget which movie is which and the order. So I enjoyed reminding myself with this blog. Iron Man is my favourite too.

Kudos on watching all of them! I’ve watched a few here and there and out of order, and in theory I want to watch them all in order, but I really just want more with everyone together-I don’t love the individual ones as much. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Good for you on watching all of them – wow! Some of my favourites are Thor, Iron Man & The Avengers movies. I have watched almost all of them, but may have to rematch some on your list!

I watched all the Marvel films recently too. There was some I’ve seen before and some I hadn’t. I am not a fan of the Captain America films. Eek but love the Avengers one’s and the Thor one’s. He is my favourite. I didn’t think I would enjoy Doctor Strange either but loved it too. Black Panther is amazing and Infinity War & Endgame are my favourite Marvel films.
WandaVision is brilliant. It took me a couple of episodes to get into it but I’m glad I stuck with it. x

That is a lot of movies! Super impressed that you made it through. I’m not a fan of most superhero movies, so I know I wouldn’t be able to make it through this list (but I will concede, Black Panther was really good).

I loved this. I told my friend the other day I wasn’t keen on Captain America and she said the first one isn’t good to watch the second. So maybe it gets better. I really like Thor. I think my favourite super hero films are the Spider-Man ones though.

I adore Marvel! My sister was a huge comic book fan so she always filled me in all the animated shows and live-action films as they were released. I remember not caring about the Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor films when they were released but it wasn’t until the first Avengers film that I got hooked! I’ve rewatched the entire MCU films multiple times and just finished watching WandaVision just a few weeks ago. The first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier came out last week and I love it! Can’t wait for more MCU content! haha ♥

Ohhh we re-watched them all in order last year too! My favourites are probably the first Iron Man, first Captain America, Civil War, and then Infinity War/Endgame are in a league of their own. I actually really liked Ant Man! It’s the only one I didn’t see at the cinema and took me ages to get around to watching it, but it’s so much fun.

Civil War was about whether they should take orders for when and how they should intervene, which Tony wanted to do after seeing how they’d destroyed lives in the process of saving others, while Cap thought they should intervene on their own will, no holds barred, do what they need to do rather than what a government tells them to do. I was definitely team Cap but it was such fantastic character development for Tony.

Oh & I actually agree about Guardians! It’s so different to the rest of the MCU. I like it but almost all of my friends say it’s one of their favourites and I’m like… meh lol.

Useful for you on observing every one of them – goodness! A portion of my top choices are Thor, Iron Man and The Avengers films. I have observed practically every one of them, however may a need to rematch some on your rundown!
