I love reading book tag posts. It so fun to find out more about how people read and hear people’s reading opinions.

So of course, when my lovely friend Emma from The Bookworm Girl tagged me to answer the 20 questions book tag, I was super excited!

So, let’s get answering the questions!

1. How many books are too many books in a series?

Honestly, I don’t read a lot of series. I have a super short attention span so if a book requires me to remember too much then there’s no chance. I tend to gravitate more towards stand-alone books.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I hate cliffhangers! I need answers right away. I need every single detail to fully immerse myself into the story.

3. Hardback or Paperback?

I used to be a paperback kind of girl but recently I’ve been enjoying hardbacks more. Paperbacks are still great but hardbacks are easier to keep looking neat. I have a weird obsession with not cracking the spin on a paperback so hardbacks get rid of that worry.

4. Favourite book?

My answer to this question probably changes a lot. For as long as I can remember, my favourite book has been Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman. However, Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery has become a solid favourite of mine and might even pass Noughts & Crosses. Can I cheat and list 2 faves..? Because those are my two choices.

5. Least favourite book?

My first thought when answering this question was going to be Harry Potter. Controversial, I know. However, I had a quick scroll of Goodreads to see which book I rated the lowest and it was My Mad Fat Diary by Rae Earl, so I guess that’s my least favourite. I still stand by my Harry Potter opinion though.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

I’ve never really thought about the answer to this before. But if I think back to reading Twilight and watching Bella, I’m going to say that I don’t like love triangles.

7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. I don’t know why I DFN’d this book but it was just so annoying to read.

8. A book you’re currently reading?

I’m currently reading Have We Met? by Camille Baker and The House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson. One I’m loving and the other I just feel unsure.

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. I tell everyone to read it!

10. Oldest book you’ve read?

Is there an easy way to work this out? From the top of my head, I would guess Animal Farm by George Orwell.

11. Newest book you’ve read?

Well I’m currently reading Have We Met? by Camille Baker which only came out this month (I think).

12. Favourite author?

I don’t think I really have a favourite author. I have read a lot of books by Malorie Blackman though, so I’ll say her.

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

I definitely prefer buying books. I love adding books to my shelves and watching my collection grow. I do enjoy walking around my local library and borrowing books sometimes too though.

14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Harry Potter.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Any marks on my books makes me so sad so there’s no way that I would ever dog-ear a book. I tend to use bookmarks or whatever I can find. I usually end up using a piece of scrap paper though.

16. A book you can always reread?

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

17. Can you read while listening to music?

Definitely not. Any kind of noise is super distracting for me.

18. One POV or multiple POVs?

I don’t think I have a preference on this one.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I haven’t managed to read a book in one sitting since I was a teenager. If anyone is able to read a book in one sitting then I’m super jealous. My attention span is way too short. I’m usually happy if I finish a book in a week.

20. Who do you tag?

I tag anyone who wishes to have a go at this tag. I’d love to see your answers

Would you answer these questions similarly to me? Feel free to let me know your answers!

This makes me feel nostalgic to the days when i was 14/15 reading books like the divergent series, hunger games and some john green classics in one sitting! Oh i miss those days! I love that you’ve mentioned noughts & crosses by malorie blackman, i read in back in year 8 english at school (oh gosh that was YEARS ago haha) and loved it- did you see the BBC series adaptation of it?

I really enjoyed reading this post. (And am definitely going to do this myself!) I actually feel like we have a lot in common on this topic. Except for HP, which I love, but of course, as of those tweets, what an awful can of worms! 😦
I don’t always stay up to date on my reading, but this was really enjoyable.

Like you, I cannot read a book with music playing – no way. I don’t know how some people manage to do this, just shows how different we all are 🤔📚
