Reading is one of the best cosy activities. You can curl up under a blanket, light a candle, sip a hot drink and spend hours in a fantasy world. What’s not to love about it?

Since the winter months are on their way and it’s about to be chilly, I thought it would be nice to compile a list of books that are perfect to cosy up with.

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. A murder mystery set on a train that has been stopped by the snow is the perfect cosy read. You can try to solve the crime alongside Hercule Poirot and get lost in the book for hours.

Mrs Death Misses Death by Salena Godden. This book comes with quite a few death-related trigger warnings, but if you’re okay with all that, then this book is thought-provoking, tragic and beautiful.

The Call of the Wild by Jack London. A book that follows the tragic and heartfelt story of a sledge dog named Buck is completely perfect for Winter. It’s a relatively fast-paced book too.

The House With Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson. This book is the perfect, magical, and cosy read for all fans of middle grade and young adult fiction.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. Nothing says cosy reading like a spooky book full of vintage aspects, magical abilities, and a remote island in Wales.

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. A historical fantasy novel is perfect to cosy up with in Winter. It also incorporates Russian folklore which makes this book extra interesting.

Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. I will admit that this book isn’t fully set in the winter but it really does have cosy vibes that still makes it a perfect read. Anne is the perfect character to help you enjoy the little things in life and make you smile.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This book is a beautiful reminder about the spirit of Christmas, making it the perfect winter read.

The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie. Nothing beats cosying up with a mystery book on a cold day. Grab a hot drink and try to solve the crime alongside Miss Marple.
