Since we are halfway through 2022 now, I thought it would be a lovely idea to tell you about some of my favourite reads of the year.

They Both Die in the End by Adam Silvera

I caved and read this book because everyone was talking about it. All the bookish people on Twitter and TikTok were getting to me and I just needed to know what the hype was all about. Safe to say, this book did not let me down.

If I Can’t Have You by Charlotte Levin

I picked this book up quite spontaneously and I’m honestly so glad that I did. I got through it in about 2 days which is incredibly fast for me.

Rating: ★★★★★

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman

This book has been on my tbr list for waayyy too long. After finishing a longer book, I wanted to read something quick and lighthearted. I picked up Heartstopper and now I’m looking forward to reading volume two because volume one was just so cute.

Rating: ★★★★★

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

It would be impossible not to enjoy a book about four elderly friends who meet up on a Thursday and try to solve murders. Although this book has a slightly slower start, it’s definitely worth persevering.

Rating: ★★★★✩

My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

I bought this book from a secondhand book market stall and I didn’t know much about it. I saw the words ‘serial killer’ and thought it seemed interesting. Oh my, I sure am glad I picked up this book. It was a fast-paced, easy read that kept me gripped the entire time.

Rating: ★★★★✩

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

How did it take me so long to read this?! I feel like younger me would have loved this. Also, Bilbo is so incredibly relatable, mostly because he’s always thinking about food.

Rating: ★★★★★

Agatha by Anne Cathrine Bomann

I found myself browsing the shelves in my local library and I came across this book. I decided to give it a go on a whim and I’m so glad that I did. Everyone should read this book, it’s absolutely beautiful.
