20 Gift Ideas That Aren’t Things

With Christmas being just around the corner, we will all see plenty of wishlists that are filled with items we want. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But what about a gift for someone who wants to have a clutter-free Christmas? Or a gift for someone who already has everything?

This is where a non-material gift could be a great option!

Of course, not all ‘things’ are bad. We need things to live and we have things in our lives that just make us happy. There’s so many material gift options and these are great for gift giving. You could give someone a gift that will help them in their daily life, or you could make something yourself.

But when it comes to gifts, non-material gifts can be a great idea and luckily, there’s plenty of options.

Here’s some non-material gift ideas for you to ‘give’ this Christmas:

Is It Too Early To Start Planning For Christmas? I Think Not

I know what you’re thinking… it’s only September, why am I already chatting about Christmas..? Well my friends, Christmas is only 3 months away and whether you like it or not, it’ll be here before you know it.

Suddenly it’ll be December and you’ll be rushing around the shops trying to get those last minute gifts and worrying about whether or not you’ve got enough food and drinks. And that is exactly why I’ve decided that September is the perfect time to start planning for Christmas!

I love Christmas. I look forward to watching all the cosy Christmas films, singing cheesy songs, and eating so much food that you feel like you’ll burst. I know that it’s just one day of the year, but honestly, life is way too hard to not say “f**k it!” and have the greatest day ever.

In saying that, I know that Christmas can be a stressful and chaotic time of year, so let’s get planning now to make it easier..

Slow Living 101: A Beginner’s Guide To Living Slowly

These days, everyone is moving fast. We live in a fast-paced world and it’s easy to get swept up in the rush of it all. This is where slow living can help.

Here’s the thing: in the long run, faster is not always better. Living too fast can lead to burnout and leave you feeling bored of life.

I’m not saying that you need to do everything in slow-motion. We still need to get things done, we just don’t want to damage out physical and mental health in the process.

Trying The Modern Milkman Service ♡ Is It Worth It?

I came home from town one day to see that The Modern Milkman had posted a flyer through the door about their service. I usually ignore that kind of stuff but I was intrigued so I looked up their website.

They seemed to have all the daily essentials that anyone can need. And it was all plastic free!

Since it seemed so great, I couldn’t help but place an order.

I placed my order on Wednesday and requested for my first delivery to be on the Friday.

Monday Motivation Quotes To Get You Through The Week

I think we are all programmed to think that Mondays have to suck. But they don’t have to. For me, the way to not dread a Monday is to find something to look forward to for the week. If you don’t have something you’re excited for, you could set yourself a goal for the week which means you’ll have something to work towards.

Whether you love Mondays or not, getting out of bed on a Monday morning can be a tricky one. So, here are some Monday motivational quotes for you to help you feel more productive and motivated for the week.

UK Lockdown And Mental Health

You probably already know that yesterday at 8:30pm, Boris Johnson announced that the UK was going into lockdown. He stated that there’s now only a few reasons that you are allowed to leave the house and that the police will have more power now.

If you didn’t quite catch what he was saying, here’s the only times you’re allowed to leave the house:

  • Shopping for basic necessities
  • One form of exercise a day
  • Medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
  • Travelling to and from work (if completely necessary)

This will be a 3 week lockdown and then the situation will be reassessed.

I know that that is exactly what this country needs but I can also understand that this is going to be hard for people’s mental health, including mine.

How To Prepare Your Phone For A Disney Trip

Visiting a Disney park is a dream come true. Not every Disney fan is lucky enough to be able to visit a park in their life. If you are lucky enough, you’ll want to make sure that you’re all ready to make your time as magical as possible.

It’s not only important to get yourself ready but you need to prep your phone too.

I don’t think that people realise how important their phone is for the perfect Disney trip. Everything used to come on paper several years ago. You had your fastpasses on paper, your maps on paper and you had your meal reservations on paper. But, those days are gone. Everything is digital which makes your phone so much more important than you would think.

Christmas In Disneyland Paris 2019 ♡ Photo Diary

We arrived back from Disneyland Paris just a few days ago and I’m already completely missing it. I figured that I would share some photos of my trip because I’m so happy with my experience and I need to show you all.

We stayed in the Santa Fe hotel again. It’s one of out favourites and also happens to be the cheapest Disney hotel too.

What I Learned From My First Trip To Walt Disney World

I have an infinity annual pass for Disneyland Paris and I have been a few times now. It’s so magical and I love it. However, even though my love for Disney grows stronger every single day, I had never actually managed to make the trip to Walt Disney World. It had been on my bucket list for a while though.

As a Brit, it’s pretty expensive to go to Walt Disney World so it was something that I could never really afford to do. However, 18 months ago, Simon and I decided to save up and make the effort to head over to Florida to visit Disney World.

We arrived back just less than a week ago and I feel like I learnt a lot that I should tell you about so that you can make the most of your first trip to Disney World.

Taking a break is definitely necessary

Don’t be afraid to admit defeat in a Disney park. Especially is said Disney park is in Orlando. The weather there is absolutely mad. It’s so hot and humid which can make you feel completely exhausted. It’s completely okay to take a midday break. That break can be different for everyone but for me, it was going back to the hotel, turning on the air conditioner and maybe taking a nap. For other people though, it’s simply sitting on a bench and drinking a cold drink.

Select the quick service meal plan

This is what we did and it’s definitely something that we would do again. Dining in Walt Disney World is absolutely crazy. For us, sit down restaurant meals just weren’t going to happen. Hopefully next time but for our first trip, we wanted to keep it as simple as possible. The quick service meal plan saved us a lot of money and we were never going hungry. The snacks and meals are huge and you can still eat as much as you want.

You’ll always wish that you had more time

No matter how much you plan, you will never accomplish it all in the one trip. Even though we went for two weeks, I feel like we would have needed another two more weeks just to get everything done. If you plan to spend time in the hotel, plan mini-golf, visit other hotels or even go to the water parks, you would need even more time on top of that.

Going to Disney World was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. There were a few things that I wish I changed but I just get to take them into consideration next time I go.

Have you ever been to a Disney park before? If you have, which is your favourite?
