How To Prepare Your Phone For A Disney Trip

Visiting a Disney park is a dream come true. Not every Disney fan is lucky enough to be able to visit a park in their life. If you are lucky enough, you’ll want to make sure that you’re all ready to make your time as magical as possible.

It’s not only important to get yourself ready but you need to prep your phone too.

I don’t think that people realise how important their phone is for the perfect Disney trip. Everything used to come on paper several years ago. You had your fastpasses on paper, your maps on paper and you had your meal reservations on paper. But, those days are gone. Everything is digital which makes your phone so much more important than you would think.

Christmas In Disneyland Paris 2019 ♡ Photo Diary

We arrived back from Disneyland Paris just a few days ago and I’m already completely missing it. I figured that I would share some photos of my trip because I’m so happy with my experience and I need to show you all.

We stayed in the Santa Fe hotel again. It’s one of out favourites and also happens to be the cheapest Disney hotel too.

Self Care Tips

Imagine that you’re looking after a young child or a toddler. You would want to make sure that they had the best care possible. You’d make sure that they got enough sleep, let them have time to play and have fun, make sure that they have 3 meals a day and keep them clean.

Now, imagine that child is you. You would have wanted to be treated like that as a child so why not treat yourself like that now that you’re an adult. Just because you don’t have someone parenting you, doesn’t mean that you need to stop caring about yourself. You deserve to be treated well so here’s some self care tips for you.

♡ Give yourself at least one day of rest per week. You could sit around all day binge watching tv, sleep in or stay in bed all day, take a day away from your phone, read a good book, take a slow and steady walk, eat something yummy or you could just spend some time with yourself.

♡ Create a list of things that you are grateful for or just things that make you happy. You can then look back on the list whenever you need a little pick me up. I find that even just making the list can put you in a great mood and leave a beautiful smile on your face.

♡ Turn off the notifications on your phone. I swear that this is an actual game changer. It’s such a good feeling because you end up being ‘free’ from your phone for a bit. Not having the notifications on takes away some of the pressure that you feel when you hear a ping. You’ll start spending less time on your phone and more time enjoying the real world.

♡ Do something nice for another person. You could write a letter to a friend, help a stranger on the street, buy something little for your partner or you could take someone out for a meal. These acts of kindness are so important because they make the other person feel loved and valued which helps both their mental health and your own. By making someone else smile, you will feel a sense of purpose and it makes you feel happier.

♡ Stay away from the negativity if you can. I know that this isn’t always possible but if you can avoid gossip, complaints or insults then you will instantly feel a little better. By surrounding yourself with more positive and radiant beings, you will feel so much happier.

♡ Practise self love. The way that you talk to yourself matters. What you tell yourself ultimately becomes your reality. So, try your hardest to fill your mind with positive thoughts and watch yourself blossom. Loving yourself is not an easy journey. You’re not going to just wake up one day and feel better. It’s a process. You’ll probably have setbacks but you’re going to get there in the end.

♡ Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. There’s so many people out there who are willing to listen and give advice. Call a family member or friend when you are facing a problem or when you’re feeling low. If you don’t want to talk to someone you know, there’s plenty of phone or online services that you can contact. Asking for help is not weak, it’s actually very brave.

No matter what kind of issues you are going through in life, you are not alone and there’s so many people out there that love and value you. So, please try to love yourself too.

What I Hope To See For 2020 Blogging

I can’t tell if it’s just me or if the world of blogging seems to be turning more and more selfish. People only tend to be commenting on other people’s posts if they will get a comment back. People only tend to retweet someone’s promo tweet if they think you’ll retweet theirs. It’s as if everyone is just out for themselves and they will only help you if it will also help them.

Don’t get me wrong, there are nice people out there who just want to help you. Some of the people in the blogosphere are so so so kind that I just want to hug them and never let them go!

There are two things that I just wish people would start doing in the world of blogging..

Actually Read Blogger’s Posts

I feel like this is the one thing that people aren’t doing anymore. When people are taking part in a comment swap, they scan the post and leave a very generic comment. It kind of annoys me though because people spend a lot of time writing there posts. Sure, we love getting comments but if you’re anything like me, I am pretty sure that you would would way prefer people to actually read the post.

More writing instead of 100 photos per post

Something that I noticed recently is that people are hardly writing things on their blog anymore. They are becoming more and more like photo diaries. Don’t get me wrong, I do love looking at photos but if I want to do that then I will head over to Instagram. If I’m reading your blog then I mostly want to hear what you have to see and maybe see the odd photo or two throughout the post. Maybe that’s just my personal preference but that’s just what I want to see.

I hope that the world of blogging in 2020 brings you lots of joy no matter what you choose to do with your blog. What would you like to see more of in the blogosphere?

Fat Hygiene

Let’s talk a little bit about fat hygiene. Embarrassing, I know but it’s something that need to be talked about.

There’s topics in life that no one wants to talk about. Those topics include things like periods, sex and most things to do with fatter bodies. If you’re a fat babe like myself, you’ll probably not want to go around talking about fat hygiene! That is why I’m writing this post.

Hygiene is important for literally everyone. No matter what size you are, you need to be clean! However, it can be harder for bigger bodies as we have rolls and saggy bits that can be harder to reach or to keep clean.

If you asked me a few years ago, how I kept my fat body clean then I wouldn’t know what to say. I didn’t know that fat people needed to do things differently or anything like that. I figured you just smothered your body in shower gel and you’re clean.

If you ask me now, I would have a completely different answer for you. For me, it was hard at first to come to the conclusion that I needed to do things differently. I didn’t like being different but now I’m okay with it.

But that’s enough of talking about me. You aren’t here to hear my story, you’re here for advice so advice I shall give you.

If you have some fat rolls, saggy skin or anything that rubs, you’ll know about how sweaty those areas can get. If you don’t clean them areas enough, they will get a bit sticky and smelly. I want to specially talk about a few areas that tend to be a difficult area for some fat people.

Tummy

Okay, I thought that I would start here as this is the biggest problem area for me personally. I hate my lower tummy. It is saggy and full of rolls. They overlap and rub which causes a lot of sweat, especially in the hot weather. It happens in the cold weather too though.

Unfortunately, I don’t have many tips for this as I’m still working it all about for myself but for me, I need to shower often to help this situation. When you are showering, don’t be afraid to lift up your rolls and fully clean underneath. I use a shower puff and really scrub away the dirt! You can pick them up for around 50p in most shops and they are definitely worth it. If you can’t reach underneath, you could try a shower puff on a stick.

Underarms

Armpit sweat is horrible and is probably the most smelly part for me. If I don’t shower often enough then they start to really smell. I have very sensitive skin so I can’t use most deodorants. However, I do use Avon deodorant which is scent free and great for me. It’s a roll on which I find keep you smelling fresh for longer.

Underboob

If you’re a woman and have boobs, you’ll probably know about under-boob sweat. It’s a nightmare!

Because my tummy is big and so are my boobs, it makes everything very sweaty. If I don’t use my shower puff under my boobs, sweat gathers and make me very itchy. It is one of the most annoying things ever.

To combat this, I try to wear a bra with a good lift. This stops the boob sweat a little and stops my boobs from rubbing on my tummy. If that doesn’t work, a little bit of roll on deodorant under the boobs helps a lot. Just make sure to shower at the end of the day and wash it off so it doesn’t make you just as itchy.

Thighs

They say that mermaids don’t have thigh gaps and that is true but neither do I. My thighs touch and so do many other people’s. If your thighs touch or rub then you know that it’s a nightmare in the summer. The chub rub is awful!

To stop this, there are a few options. You can try wearing cycling shorts under a dress or skirt, you can rub roll on deodorant on your thighs or you can try applying talc on your thighs. All of these things have worked for me. I hope they work for you.

Also, the value of a person is not dependent on their smell. Even if you do end up a bit stinky, you are still a valuable and worthwhile person, okay?

My Top 5 Character Meets At Disneyland Paris

I’ve been to Disneyland Paris twice now and have a third trip booked. I know that’s not a huge amount but I’m grateful that I get to go at all.

In the future, Simon and I hope to get APs which means we will be going all the time but money doesn’t want that to happen right now.

In the meantime, while I’m missing the Disney magic, I thought I would write all about my favourite character meets in the parks.

Miss Bunny and Thumper

This is my all time favourite meet so I thought that I would talk about it first. It’s a funny story really. We were in the queue for the characters and something happened that made us leave the queue. We ended up all sad that we didn’t meet Miss Bunny and Thumper. So, we did some shopping. I bought a handbag with Mickey Mouse’s face on.

Anyway, we went back into the park and noticed that Miss Bunny and Thumper will be back at 1pm. We waited around for about an hour to meet them but it was totally worth it. Miss Bunny ended up loving my new bag and she posed with it. Thumper was upset that it wasn’t him that was on my bag!

Definitely the best character meet so far. Plus, Miss Bunny looks adorable with my handbag!

Marie

This was a character meet that I didn’t love so much as it was happening but thinking about it now, it made my trip extra special. We didn’t have to queue very long to meet Marie which shocked me as I figured that people would love to meet Marie.

At the time, I thought that Marie was freaky as she just clawed at me and stroked my hand but thinking about it now, it was super fun and funny.

Jafar

The line to meet Jafar was the best queue ever. I was hyped and super excited so I kept making jokes.

“First we were JaFAR, then we were JaNEAR”

I realise that isn’t actually that funny but I was so happy that I would laugh at anything.

When we got to Jafar, I asked him if he was the hugging type. He shook his head at me and it was one of the best moments ever.

Daisy Duck

This was the first meet of the second trip. As soon as we arrived in the park, I noticed Daisy and ran over.

Me and Daisy posed a lot and took plenty of photos. Even though I was extra fat (I’ve lost weight since), these photos are some of my favourite of myself. Not because of how I look but because of how happy I am.

Goofy

This was the last character meet of the second trip. We were packing up and waiting for the coach to the airport when Goofy arrived so of course, we had to squish in one more character meet before we left.

I gave him the biggest hug and told him that I would see him soon.

I can’t wait to go back to Disneyland Paris and meet more characters. Have you ever been before? Who was your fave character meet?

How To Stop Comparing Yourself To Others Online

“Enjoy your own life without comparing it with that of another.”

Imagine how you would feel if you compared the strength of others to your own weaknesses? How do you think you’d size up? Do you think you would feel good? Probably not. Well, that is what happens when you compare yourself to others.

The funny part is, people compare themselves to others online all the time. Some people only do it from time to time and others do it pretty often. It all depends on the person’s confidence. We definitely all do it though.

For example, let’s compare me to a super famous blogger. They have a beautiful blog and an amazing writing style but that doesn’t mean that I’m not good in my own way too. In the past, I would look at a popular blogger and think about how I’m just not cut out for the blogosphere. That’s definitely not the case though. There’s room for everyone here.

Comparing myself to a popular blogger is not a fair comparison. That is because the popular blogger isn’t me. They aren’t the same person as me and the only person that I should compare myself to is myself.

I aim to be the best version of myself and that is who I should be comparing myself to.

What Are The Effects Of Online Comparison?

If you don’t see anything wrong with comparing yourself to others then let’s just stop for a minute and create a little list.

  1. It’s usually an unfair comparison to start with. Comparing your weaknesses to someone’s strengths will mka eyou look bad from the get go.
  2. Even comparing strength to strength will sometimes mean that you come off worse. You might not be as talented as the person but it’s doesn’t mean that you aren’t still talented and you might be even more talented then them when it comes to something else.
  3. If you think you won the little comparison game, then you will gain a very short lived ego boost. This boost won’t last long as you’ll soon find someone else to compare yourself to.
  4. You can end up resenting the person you compare yourself to even though they haven’t done anything wrong.
  5. Comparing yourself to other’s can even knock down their confidence as well as your own. You don’t want to upset someone just because you are insecure yourself.

“ Comparison is the thief of joy.”

How Do You Break The Habit Of Comparing Yourself?

So how do you break this cycle of comparing yourself with others? Here are some tips I’ve found useful:

  1. Become more conscious. Look out for moments when you are comparing yourself to someone else. It’s a hard habit to break but it will be worth it. By keeping the habit at the forefront of your mind, you will have more self-awareness of what you are doing.
  2. Stop yourself as soon as you notice what is happening. When the habit is on your mind, you’ll be read it nip it in the bud before it even gets started.
  3. It’s important to notice your own accomplishments. Maybe you could write a list of all the big and small things that you have achieved and you can look at the list every single day. This will make you feel like you are doing well. Therefore, you won’t feel the need to compare yourself to others.
  4. Learn that it’s okay not to be perfect. No one is perfect at all. We are all imperfect and that’s what makes us so wonderful. Emotionally, we feel bad when we look at someone ‘better’ than us. We see that person as perfect and we idolise them. You need to remember, no one is perfect and that’s okay.
  5. Lastly, it’s a good habit to love people and respect people around you. Don’t compare yourself to them and don’t put them down when you think you’re better than them. It doesn’t matter how many followers someone has, you should love and appreciate them anyway.

So, how about we all make a new deal. Let’s all stop comparing ourselves to others online and in person!
