Twitter is probably my all time favourite social media. Instagram is great, don’t get me wrong. But on Twitter, I can tweet random rubbish and there’s no pressure to make it perfect like I sometimes feel with Instagram.
My One of my favourite things about Twitter is how quickly it moves. I love that one second I can tweet about a film and the next second I can tweet about travel. There’s not really much pressure to niche down on Twitter and I just love that. If you’ve been to my blog before then you’ve probably noticed that finding a niche isn’t my strong point.
So yeah, Twitter is fun, good for growing your online brand and it’s a fab way to make some new friends too. But… what do you tweet about when you feel like you have nothing to say?
Ah, social media. My favourite way to waste hours of my day.
Back at the start of 2020 (which feels like a lifetime ago), I shared my 2020 social media strategies. I’m not really sure if they helped me all that much during the year, but that’s not going to stop me from sharing my social media plans for 2021.
I am definitely one of those people who’s obsessed with their devices. The very first thing I do in the morning is check my phone and the last things that I do before going to sleep is check I won’t miss out on anything. Even if I wake up in the night, I have a quick scroll through Twitter and Instagram before trying to get back to sleep. Do you do this too?
Even though I probably spend way too much time on my iPhone, I thought I would share some of my favourite apps with you all so that you can all become addicted too.
I try to mix my iPhone full of fun apps and app that make me be productive so I figured that I would show you a few from each of these types.
Twitter is one of the biggest social media platforms. There are 330 million monthly active users and 145 million daily active users on Twitter. With so many users, it’s pretty easy to see why businesses and brands can benefit from using the platform.
When you’re just a small blogger, the biggest question is how can you get some of those 330 million users to notice your account and engage with you.
Most bloggers head into Twitter with such enthusiasm which is great. The problem only comes when you seem to be pumping out a lot of content and no one seems to be noticing.
Building a following on any social media platform can take time and a lot of work. There are definitely strategies that can help you increase your Twitter engagement, leading to more clicks, increased brand awareness, and more conversions.
I realise that we are over halfway through the first month of 2020 but I feel like sharing this post will help myself and while I’m here, it might help you out too.
During 2019, I grew gradually on most of my social media accounts. I think that the only platform that didn’t grow much was Instagram as I didn’t put in much effort on that platform at all.
Don’t get me wrong, I do love Instagram for the Stories and keeping up with people’s lives but I never know what to post on my feed which makes my photo uploads a little bit messy so people won’t care for my account, which is fine because everyone is allowed to enjoy or not enjoy whatever they want.
I love Q&As as they are a great way to find out more about people. So, I asked on Twitter for people to send me some questions and they lovely Twitter people did.
Aside from your phone/laptop, what’s one object you couldn’t live without and why? – What Abigail Says
I would say my laptop but since I can’t say that, I’m going to do with my favourite teddy called Rosy. I have had her since I was very young and she is my most favourite possession. I also have another teddy bear called Honey who is also super precious so really, I can’t live without either of them.
Who is your favourite book character(s) & why? – Raiin Monkey
Okay… so… I thought about this for a while and I think that my favourite character is Eleanor from Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. She is quirky and she isn’t afraid to be different. A few other characters that I love are:
Oh my gosh, this is such a difficult question to answer! After a lot of thought, I think I’m going to have to go with Monsters Inc. It’s the film that I remember most from my childhood and probably the film that made me love Disney most of all. I also love Mulan and anything with Chip n Dale in.
I do play video games. Not too long ago, I bought a Nintendo Switch so I have been playing some Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee but my all time favourite game is Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer for the Nintendo 3DS. I’m kind of a Nintendo Nerd!
So… I started a booktube channel about one year ago. I filmed the booktube newbie tag and it got over 100 views which was a huge shock to me. I figured that people wanted to see more bookish content from me so I went with it. I started watching booktubers and seeing what tag videos were out there.
Over time, I got bored of talking about books all the time. So, I started vlogging. I pretty much daily vlogged for a while but my vlogs got boring as my depression got worse and I didn’t have the motivation to do anything.
When a bit of my motivation came back, I got into fitness. So of course, I started vlogging again and talking about fitness.
Now, I film fitness related videos at least once a month and it’s great for me because it’s not too much pressure and it’s also really fun.
What’s a song that you can’t help but jam out/sing along to when it comes on?! – Inspired By Tor
I always tell people that I don’t like Motionless In White but whenever Simon plays one of there songs, I catch myself headbanging and singing/screaming along.
We actually met on Tinder. I had only just downloaded the app and didn’t take it too seriously but Simon and I got talking and we ended up really enjoying chatting to each other. Over time, we decided to meet up and it all went from there…
